Describe the nature of light.
Light is a wave with its colour governed by its wavelength.
Describe the impact of the optics of the eye on the image that fallson the retina. 
Light spreads out due to diffraction, aberrations and scattering.
Describe how light interacts with an object to produce the colour of the image that falls on the retina 
The wavelength of light reflected determines the colour of theobject.
Describe how an adaptive optics system (these correct monochromatic aberrations) works.
Aberrations are corrected by a mirror that changes its shape to re-direct the rays so that they are parallel after reflection.
Explain why adaptive optics systems are used. 
To image individual cells in the eye for early disease detection andto correlate structure and perception.
