Dispersion

• White light is made up of all of the colours of the rainbow.
• When white light is refracted through a triangular prism a rainbow is formed.
• This is because different colours get refracted by different amounts.
• Light with the highest frequency (violet) bends the most and lowest frequency (red) bends the least.
