Reflection

• When light is reflected it obeys the law of reflection: the angle of incidence = the angle of reflection.
• The angles of reflection and incidence are measured from the normal which is at 90 degrees to the mirror line.
• Specular reflection occurs on a flat smooth surface and leads to a clear image being formed.
• Diffuse reflection occurs on a rough surface, the reflected rays are scattered in different directions and no clear image is formed.
