  • Native delicacies- known as "kakanin" in Filipino, usually served as desserts, Filipinos commercialized this into a business
    1. Bibingka- made from glutinous rice, root crops, or rice flower
  • 2. Biko- Made from glutinous rice (Galapong). It is cooked in syrup milk and latik
  • 3. Suman- Made in different ways, some are made of glutinous rice and wrapped banana leaves or coconut leaves
  • 4. Puto Maya- Glutinous rice cake cooke in either plain water or coconut milk, from Cebu
  • 5. Palitaw- Made from glutinous rice, white and somewhat shiny and sticky
  • 6. Kalamay- MAde from galapong milk, brown sugar, and anise seeds
  • 7. Cutchinta- Made from all-purpose flour, sugar, and lye, Lye gives flavor and gives the light brown color of Cutchinta
  • 8. Espasol- Made from sticky mixture of glutinous rice, or pinipig flour sugar, coconut milk, and mixture, rolled thinly and cut into desired shapes
  • 9. Haleya- This is made from root crops, like ube, gabi or kamote. Cooked with either milk or coconut milk, margarine and sugar into low heat
  • 10. Maja Blanca- Cooking galapong or cornstarch flour, sugar and coconut milk. Layers maybe artificially colored or colored with ube
