• Any number to the power of zero is equal to 1 eg.

  4⁰= 1

  (1/2)⁰=1
• A negative power is a reciprocal of a positive one:

  4-² is the reciprocal of 4²

  4²=16. 4-²=1/16
• Any number that's raised to the power of 1/2, you will square root it eg

  81¹/²= √81=9
• It is the same with any fraction eg if you have any number to the power of a 1/3 you cube root it
