Energy Changes Practical

Cards (2)

  • What do you need to remember when reacting a metal with an acid?
    VITSHA
Volume (measure the volume of acid using a measuring cylinder)
Insulation (Use a polystyrene cup with a lid that insulates)
Temperature (measure the initial temp of acid using a thermometer)
Stir ( Stir once you have added the solid)
Highest (Measure and not the highest temperature reached by the reaction)
Again ( Repeat it again and find a mean of your results)
  • When repeating do you change anything
    Yes change ONE variable
    Mass of metal
Type of metal - highest temp change = highest reactivity
    Volume of acid
