    • time and pressure tactics
    • impersonation of brands
  • Threats and Extortion scams are where scammers target someone's personal details for profit by making threats and other disturbing happenings to deceive their victim. Maximum sentence for this scam is up to 10 years in jail. Warning Signs include:
    • unexpected messages asking for money
  • Job and Employment Scams are where individuals are deceived with messages of trickery and false claims of jobs, remote work and salaries. Text messages are a warning sign.
  • Unexpected money scams are where scammers falsely claim problems of large money and request bank details (including lottery, inheritance, overpayment and online job scams). This targets wealthy or the emotionally vulnerable. Requests for payment is a warning sign.
