• Transcendence


  The belief that God exists beyond or outside of space and time
• Christians believe God entered time through the Incarnation in Jesus Christ
• God is believed to exist in a simultaneous present, seeing the past, present and future all at once

  • Can see the past, present and future all at the same time
  • Is in the fourth dimension
  • Is completely outside of faith and outside of time
• The fact that God is outside of time means that he can see the past, present and future all in one go
• Omniscience

  God is outside of space and time
• God exists and can see things in this simultaneous present, he sees everything simultaneously
• Spatio-temporal language is not appropriate for God because God is outside of faith and time
• God is so far removed from faith and time, he transcends it, he sees everything in one simultaneous present
• God cannot be fully understood logically
• Belief in God requires faith
• The Catholic Church calls this the mystery of faith
• Christianity and belief in Christianity should be about faith alone, not empirical evidence
