RNAi

• Inhibition occurs when mRNA leaves nucleus, getting destroyed using siRNA before it can be translated
• RNAi Process:

  • Enzyme cuts Double Stranded RNA into siRNA
  • siRNA binds with the enzyme RISC, forming an siRNA-enzyme complex via complementary pairing to the mRNA
  • Enzyme cuts up the mRNA so it can't be translated
