  • Miles
The first odd that stood up against him was his father, who was a police officer. He disapproved of his son's desire to become Spider-Man and he strongly believed that people shouldn’t handle problems on their own. His father noted that police officers “don’t hide behind masks”, adding to that he said” with great ability comes with great accountability.” This quotation implies that exceptional roles and supernatural abilities, come with responsibilities.
  • He noted that if Miles was to become Spider-Man with powers that isn't for personal gain but it will be his responsibility to help others and to be a beneficial influence to others. The second odd stacked up against him was the pressure to use his Spider-Man abilities to battle kingpin and save the universe. Despite being under a lot of pressure his uncle's last words inspire and motivate him to attain his ambitions “ you’re the best of all of us/ you’re on your way/ just keep going.
  • But the odds that stood against him created tension in the movie. If he doesn’t succeed it means the end of the world; this gives the audience a reason to root for him.
  • The fifth point(interesting ending) in my opinion is relevant to Miles as the ending showcases Miles’ Transition from teen to hero that captivates those who gaze upon him. In the end he saved the universe and defeated Kingpin, by deactivating the collider, which could’ve potentially destroyed a lot of universes. He overcame kingpin with the shoulder touch saying “ I will always have my family/ you ever heard of the shoulder touch.” His journey is a testament of his perseverance through his arms and it was in honour of late Spider-Man to keep his legacy and protect the world
