• Bearings 


  A bearing is the angle direction from one point or feature to another
• Bearings are used for

  • accurate angle of indication of the direction
  • measuring the angle from north or south, which is marked as 0°, in a clockwise direction.
• ANGLES OF BEARINGS 


  • Bearings east of the north-south line fall between 0˚ and 180˚
  • Bearings west of the north-south line fall between 180˚ and 360˚
• Quadrants are used 


  • analysing topographic maps
  • to divide a map into quarters so the relative location of features can be found easily.
