  • He portrayed a dramatized version of the war as a conflict between democracy, freedom, and civilised Christian values in contrast to the dark forces of Nazism and dictatorship. They showed Britain's role as defending these values around the world. WSC wanted to protect and prevent the loss of the Britain's imperial territories and, if possible, extend their interest around the world such as southern eastern Europe.
  • WSC wanted to maintain links with the Empire and support from its dominions and colonies. In addition, WSC wanted Britain to be the main line of defence against the threat of Hitler and to sustain an alliance with USSR and US.
