How to make Digestion efficient

• Protease works best in a low pH environment like the stomach (pH 1-2) but if it is the small intestine protease, best works a pH 7-8
• Amylase and Lipase best work at a neutral environment (pH 7-8)
• Bile salts emulsify fats so enzymes can break them down more easily
• Emulsification= breaking down of fats into smaller droplets, which are then absorbed into the bloodstream
• Bile is produced from the liver and stored in the gall bladder
