• Gene therapy- is designed to introduce genetic/ beneficial protein normal copy of the gene.
• Two types of gene therapy

  Somatic gene therapy- which involves introducing ”good gene" into targeted cells.
• Germline gene therapy- introduction of connective genes into reproductive cells (sperm and eggs) or zygotes.
• Vector gene delivery- gene therapy can be carried out using naked DNA delivery directly into the cell.
• Adenoviruses- are group of common viruses that lining of your eyes always/ eyes lungs and intestines.
• Retrovirus- type of RNA virus that inserts a copy of its genouine into DNA of a host it invades, This changing the genome of that cell.
• Adeno associated virus (AAV)- non endeveloped virus that can be engineered to deliver DNA to target cells
• Herpes simplex Type 1- causes sores around the mouth and lipes ( sometimes called fever blister or cold sores)
• Naked DNA- refers to DNA is most associated with proteins, lipids or any other molecule.
