Islam as a religion of peace

• The Quran teaches about peace and that peace is not easy to achieve. Muslims accept that sometimes war may be necessary in certain circumstances in order to bring about peace.
• Islam is a religion that has been misrepresented and associated with terrorism where , in reality , it is a religion of peace .
• Muslims believe Allah created and wanted a peaceful world.
• There are many examples of peace being shown within Islam , demonstrating its importance for example - Muslims greet each other with the words " As - salamu alaykum ( peace be with you ) "
• The Quran is seen to promote messages of peace and Muslims promote peace and unity through being part of the umah ( Islamic community )
