Residual Current Circuit Breaker (RCCB)

• Found at consumers unit
• Switches off (stops current) if it detects the current in the neutral wire is different to the live wire (when circuit is operating normally, current will be the same in both).
• ADVANTAGES

  • Sensitive - reacts very quickly to very small differences
  • Can be reset
• RCCB protects used from an electric shock.
