  The liquid that makes up most of the cell in which chemical reactions happen

  A thin, flexible barrier that surrounds the cell and controls what can pass in and out of the cell
• What is a mitochondria?


  Tiny parts of cells floating in the cytoplasm where energy is released from glucose from food. The mitochondria is where most respiration happens

  A rigid structure to help strengthen the cell
• What is a chloroplast?


  Contains the chlorophyll which absorbs light
• What is a Vacuole? 


  Filled with cell sap to keep the cell rigid to support the plant
