    • Human cells contain 46 chromosomes which are arranged into homologous pairs
    • Out of the 23 homologous pairs of chromosomes in humans:
      1 pair of chromosomes are called sex chromosomes
      The remaining 22 pairs of chromosomes are called autosomal chromosomes
    • An autosome is any chromosome that is not a sex chromosome
    • Autosomes in homologous pairs contain the same genes but may contain different alleles
    • A: sister chromatid
      B: centromere
    • Linked genes is when two or more genes appear on the same chromosome
    • Autosomal linkage is when two or more genes appear on the same autosome
