central grant for police forces decreased 25% from 2011 to 2015 which limits amount of police officers available to investigate and detect crime - HMIC issues a warning that a shortage of detectives and investigators amounts to a 'national crisis'

limitations of CPS - Finance
they were found to not be investigating as many cases in 2018 due to a lack of resources. they have been accused of 'downgrading' charges so it will be trialed at the magistrates court allowing them to save money and it be a faster process. this may cause the defendant to be given the wrong punishment
limitation of probation service - finance
there has been many staff shortages, there has been a lack of confidence in the services by judges, victims, public and offenders. there is more pressure to take on more offenders with staff cuts
limitation of prison - finance
overcrowding cuts and a lack of staff which means many prisoners will lack the opportunity of education, work experience and training. there has been a rising level of assault, suicide and self harm. there is a lack of medical or essential resources (women sanitary equipment).

alf the judiciary are white men and over a 1/3 are white women. Ethnic minority men & women each account for 5% of judges.
1st April 2022- ethnic minority men & women make up 5% of judges in posts. White women accounted 37% & the rest are white men (53%)
May have grown up in privilege-
White barristers- largest ethnicity-profession group in the judiciary
Most judges aged 50 or over
70% of court judges & 69% of tribunal judges were aged 50 & over

funding - hard to get donations
messages/missions may be seen as extreme - pressure groups
