Respiratory system

• Respiratory system- this organ system is responsible for taking in oxygen and expelling carbon dioxide
• Nose and mouth- the entrance of oxygen in our body
• Nasal cavity- the air passing this part is warm damp and clean
• Trachea- known as windpipe
• pharynx- is our throat
• Larynx- is our voice box
• Lungs- main part of the respiratory system
• Bronchi/bronchus- the two branching tubes that connect the trachea to the lungs
• Bronchioles- hairlike tubes that connect to the alveoli
• Alveoli- are the air sacs that allows gas exchange in the lungs
• Diaphragm- pumps the Carbon dioxide gas inyo the lungs
• 21.0 - percent of oxygen in the atmosphere
• 78.1 - percent of nitrogen present in our atmosphere
• 0.03 - percent of carbon dioxide present in the atmosphere
• 0.87 - percent of other gases present in the atmosphere
