  • 2 types of tumour formations:
    • Benign - Stays in one place, usually in membranes
    • Malignant - Spreads around body causing damage, through the bloodstream
  • Cancer= Uncontrolled cell division, mutations, and genetic changes that lead to the formation of tumours
  • Tumour = Abnormal mass of tissue formed by uncontrolled growth of cells.
  • What causes cancer?
    Cancer is caused by mutations in DNA that lead to uncontrolled cell growth
  • How do you treat cancer?
    > Radiotherapy - Targeted radiation but may damage healthy cells
    > Chemotherapy - Chemicals via IV drip to kill cancer cells
