• Oncogenes= genes that can cause cancer if they are mutated.
• Long term effects of alcohol:

  • Death
  • Lack of self control
  • Cirrhosis of the liver (scarring)
  • Liver cancer
  • Brain Damage
• Short term effects of alcohol:

  • Relaxed
  • Sleepy
  • Unconsciousness
• What happens if you drink alcohol during pregnancy?

  > Deformities ( Baby's liver can't cope with alcohol yet)

  > Still birth

  >Miscarriages
• Examples of carcinogens are tar, carbon monoxide, nicotine, and ionising radiation
• Ionising rays can mutate DNA that can lead them to uncontrollably multiply and cause cancer
