  • Carries air from trachea to lungs
• BRONCHIOLES

  • Carries air from bronchi to alveoli
• ALVEOLI

  • Has tiny air sacs in lungs which allows for rapid gaseous exchange
• FACTORS

  • Alveoli - large surface area - diffusion
  • Walls of alveoli and capillary are very thin - short distance
  • Alveoli surrounded by capillaries - rich supply of blood
  • Gases go from high to low conc.
