  • Rheumatoid arthritis
    -Affects lining of joints where bones meet
    -Tends to affect smaller joints
    -Causes swelling, redness and stiffness in joints
    -Suffer with periods of intense inflammation (flare-ups) followed by quieter less painful times
  • Osteoporosis
    -Bone weakening condition that mainly affects post-menopausal women
    -More likely to get via family history
    -Bone density starts to decrease in middle adulthood as a normal ageing process
    -Get fractures and they can lead to restricted movement and pain.
  • Asthma
    -Airway lining easily becomes inflamed
    -inflammation causes muscle contraction which narrows trachea and the divisions (bronchi)
    -Results in wheezing, coughing, becoming breathless and feeling tight in the chest.
    -Exercise, fur, pollen can cause asthma attack.
    -Measure with peak flow to help them manage adjusting medication
