• Tranio suggests Lucentio should study something he enjoys

• Tranio comes up with a plan to help Lucentio get Bianca

  '' Tis in my head to do my master good: I see no reason but supposed Lucentio must get a father. ''
• Grumio explains what happened to Katherina with her horse

  '' he left her with the horse upon her, how he beat me because her horse stumbled. ''
• Tranio tells Lucentio to go be with Bianca and figures out his plan to trick Baptista with the fake Vincentio

  '' I'll make him glad to seem Vincentio and give assurance to Baptista... take your love, and then let me alone. ''
• Petruchio grabs Grumio by the ears, Grumio calls him mad

• Grumio thinks Petruchio means to knock someone out but he really wants him to knock Hortensio's door
