A working drawing is a mechanical or scaled drawing having all the information needed for the complete construction of the object shown in the drawing
A freehand drawing that gives the same complete information needed to construct an object is called a working sketch
Shape Description. An adequate shape description of an object is only possible with the use of orthographic views.
Dimensions. The dimensions in a working drawing include the overall thickness of height, width, and length of the object and the detail sizes of its parts.
Notes or Letterings. Any other information that cannot be shown in the orthographic and pictorial views

Short oil – used in furniture as cabinets; also known as cabinet rubbing varnish
Flat varnish – it is dull without luster
Spar varnish – resists the action of water
Floor varnish – elastic and hard to withstand constant wear. Used also in furniture and windows.
Color or varnish stain – used chiefly in refinishing, where a color change is needed.
Lacquer – a recently produced finishing material which gives a hard and durable finish. It dries fast, so successive coats maybe applied within a few hours
Wax – composed of beeswax, paraffin carnauba wax and turpentine
Paint and enamel – paints are applied on pieces of furniture used out of doors, while enamel are used for interiors finish and on projects used in the home.
Bleach and blond finishing – bleaching is the process of removing the natural color of the wood to produce a lighter texture.
Staining – the process of producing the desired color effect by applying colored liquid substances on wood.
Water stain – are made by dissolving powdered aniline colors in hot water. They are clear, penetrate deeply into the wood and do not fade
Spiritstain – is prepared by dissolving aniline dye in alcohol, hence, they are more expensive than water stains.
Oil stains They are much easier to apply than water and spirit stain
French Finishing or Piano finishing – is a method of wood finishing which is done by applying a solution of shellac and denatured alcohol by rubbing it rigidly on the wood surface to produce a brilliant, glossy finish.
Refinishing – is the process of removing the old coat of finishing materials from the wood surface and application of a new coat
