      Recreation and leisure - It has the West End where a huge number of shows can be seen and tourist attractions such as Buckingham Palace
      Integrated transport system - London is a transport hub for the whole of the UK - many motor ways converge on Londons orbitial ring road the M25

      Inequalities - low income leads to low quality housing leads to overcrowding leading to poor health leads to missing school - being stuck in the poverty cycle
      Urban dereliction - areas attract crime, graffiti and vandalism
      Air pollution and waste disposal - London has a worse pollution record than most other European cities, a large proportion of waste still goes to landfill sites
    • Urban sprawl
      Increasing population means an increase in the amount of houses so building companies build on greenfield sites to expand the city/town
      Around many cities in the UK, including London, is a green belt (area with strict planning controls). This prevents cities from meeting and becoming one (urban sprawl).
