Bacteria in nitrogen cycle

• -Nitrogen fixing Bacteria->found in root nodules in leguminous plant->they convert nitrogen gas into nitrate ions in the soil->increase nitrate
• -Decomposers->found in soil->breakdown urea and protein into ammonia->keeps the concentration the same/does nothing
• -Nitrifying bacteria->found in soil->converts ammonia into nitrites->Nitrite turned into nitrate->increases nitrate concentration
• -Denitifying bacteria->found in soil->converts nitrate into nitrogen gas->decreases nitate concentration
