Connective tissue is the most abundant tissue in the body
The main function of connective tissues are to support, protect, bind together, store substances, transport materials around the body, insulate and defend against pathogens.
The cells aren't as close together as they are in the epithelium, they are separated by a non-cellular material called matrix
Examples of connective tissue: bones, cartilage, tendons, ligaments and blood vessels
Ligaments are connective tissue connecting bone to bone
Tendons are connective tissues connecting muscle to bone
