    • Support - Using the Stroop test, Stirling found that people with Sz took over 2x as long as those without Sz. Sz patients struggle to override their automatic thoughts of the initial word on the page rather than the color. / Only explains the proximal causes of Sz (what causes the current symptoms e.g. metarepresentation and our inability to recognise our own current thoughts) rather than the distal causes (the origins of the symptoms and so the origin of the Sz itself).
