SOLVENT - a liquid that dissolvesanothersubstance (usually solid) - water is the most commonly used solvent on Earth (liquid that a solute can dissolvein).
SOLUTE - the substance that dissolves in the solvent - common solutes that dissolve in water include salt and sugar.
SOLUBLE - a substance that candissolve (in a solvent) - salt is soluble in water as it’s able to dissolve in water.
SOLUTION - a mixture that forms when a solute (solid) fully dissolvesinasolvent (liquid) - sugardissolves easily in water = sugar solution.
SOLUBILITY - measurement of howmuch of a solute can be dissolved in a fixedvolume of a solvent (at a giventemperature).
SATURATED SOLUTION - a solution that can’t dissolve any more solute (solid) (at a specific temperature).
INSOLUBLE - a substance that cannot dissolve in a solvent - sand is insoluble as doesn’t dissolve in water.
SUSPENSION - a mixture that forms when a solid doesn’t dissolve in a solvent.
