• Human reaction time aim:

  Aim is to investigate the effect of practise on the reaction time of a ruler drop test.
• RQ Human reaction time method:

  1. person A Sit on chair, place forearm of your non-dominant hand on table with hand over the end of table
  2. have your partner hold the ruler with zero at the top of persons thumb
  3. partner drops ruler without telling person A and person must catch it
  4. Repeat 3 times
  5. add a independent variable ie drink coffee or have a caffeinated drink
• Plant responses aim:


  Investigate the effect of light or gravity on the growth of newly germinated seedlings.
• Plant response method:

  1. volume of water into 3 Petri dishes and add cotton wool
  2. place 10 seeds in each petri dish
  3. place the Petri dish in warm location
  4. allow time for seeds to germinate
  5. place one Petri dish in full sunlight by window
  6. place one Petri dish in a partial sunlight
  7. place one Petri dish in complete darkness
  8. use a ruler to measure height each day for a week
  9. find mean height
