• shiva is the destroyer
• Atman = soul
• when the body dies the atman moves onto another body
• A hindu temple is called a mandir, it is a sacred place of worship
• temples often honour the gods and godess, who's murtis live inside them
• people go to temple to connect with their gods
• in the front porch there is a bell that devotees ring to declare their arrival and departure to the murti.
• worship in the home is called puja
• Diwali is a festival of light and is celebrated by Hindus all over the world
• For most hindus, the five days honours Lakishimi, the goddess of wealth
