Tasks that are more difficult produce greater conformity, this is probably a product of ISI and the desire to be right - the more difficult, complex or ambiguous a situation the more we rely on others deciding what to do
When Asch's line tasks were difficult, compliance was greater
The more expertise or knowledge a person has, the more valuable he or she is as a source of ISI
When in a crisis situation, we usually don't have time to stop and thing about exactly which course of action we should take and we will look to see how other people are responding, take our cues from them and do likewise
