On the other hand, if at least one other person disagrees with the group this helps others resist the majority
This was seen in Asch's variations when the participant has a supporter who give the correct answer, compliance drops to 5%, with a supporter who defects: 28.5.%, when there's no supporter initially but one is gained half way through: 8.7%
Lack of support from others makes us conform with the majority, as soon as there's one other person giving the same answer as you, compliance drops sharply
