Feudalism

• Feudalism: a social, political, economic system, characterised by a hierarchical structure and relationships and obligations based on land ownership and service.
• Today's society tends to be more centralised, with defined nation-states and enforced laws and policies. It's more market-driven, and prioritises / protects individual rights and freedoms. Social mobility is also a much more common concept now.
