• Ca + 2 H2O --> Ca(OH)2 + H2
• Magnesium + H2O --> MgO + H2
• Metals above hydrogen in the reactivity series will react with water
• Potassium - Reacts violently

  Sodium - Reacts quickly

  Calcium - Reacts less strongly
