Difference between pressure groups and political parties

• Power- parties- seek to gain power or share of power- pressure groups- don’t really seek governmental power
• Accountability l- parties- have to make themselves accountable to the electorate- pressure group- usually have narrower concerns and sometimes are concerned with only one issue
• Polices-partie- develop police’s across all or lost areas of government responsibilit- pressure group- usually have a narrow concern and sometimes only concerned with one issue
• Membership- parties- have a formal membership and some kind of formal organisation- pressure groups often have supporters rather than members
