      Tar, smoke, carbon dioxide, and nicotine
    • Harmful substances effects:
      Tar-makes it more harder for gas exchange, can also lead to cancer
    • harmful substances effects:
      nicotine- addictive and increases heart rate and blood pressure
    • harmful substances effects:
      smoke- damage cilia hairs and can get bronchitis
    • harmful substance effects:
      carbon monoxide- reduces the amount of oxygen that the blood can carry
    • Smoking can affect the blood flow because tar builds up in the arteries and can decrease blood flow and also makes it harder for gas exchange
