ANGLES

• A straight line has an angle measure of 180 degrees.
• An obtuse angle is greater than 90 degrees but less than 180 degrees.

• CORRESPONDING ANGLES: when 2 parallel lines are cut by a transversal(3rd line) four pairs of corresponding angles are formed

• CO-INTERIOR ANGLES: when 2 parallel lines are cut by a transversal, 2 pairs of co-interior angles are formed
• co-interior angles add up to 180 degrees
• ALTERNATE INTERIOR ANGLES: when 2 parallel lines are cut by a transversal, two alternate interior angles are formed
• alternate interior angles are always equal to one another
• VERTICALLY OPPOSITE ANGLES: are equal to each other(e.g. x=x and x+y=180
• EQUILATERAL TRIANGLE: have 3 equal sides and 3 equal angles(each angle =60)
• RIGHT ANGLED TRIANGLE: contains an angle that measures exactly 90 degrees
• SCALENE TRIANGLE:they have no equal sides or angles
• ISOSCELES TRIANGLE: they have 2 equal sides and the angles at the base are equal
• ACUTE TRIANGLE: all three angles measure between 0 and 90 degrees
