  • I stood outside the dentist's office, my body frozen with dread. The skies were grey, and clouds coughed rain upon me. With each hesitant step I took towards the entrance, the wind tugged at me, as if to warn me of impending doom. Thoughts of sharp tools and cold, sterile rooms pierced my mind, making each step feel heavier and more daunting. The building loomed menacingly, its dark aura seeping from every crevice.
  • As I opened the door, it creaked ominously, and then slammed shut behind me, sealing my inevitable fate. This moment was bound to come.
I took a moment to familiarize myself with the surroundings. People of all ages sat in the waiting room, each a soon-to-be victim of their fate, just like me. The fluorescent lights hummed a slow, childlike rhyme as I inched forward towards the dentist's room. Each step felt as if I were being dragged into the depths of hell.
From behind closed doors, muffled screams intensified my heartbeat. Was this the pathway to hell?
  • The sound of a door creaking open cut through the air. Before me stood the dentist, his eyes filled to the brim with an unsettling mix of evil and reassurance. His smile, meant to comfort, only heightened my anxiety. Around me were the dentist's tools of mass destruction, various metals of different sizes gleaming intimidatingly under the harsh lights.
  • I thought to myself, "This is really the end."
  • A mask was lowered onto my face. Above me, the dentist's instruments gleamed ominously. My vision began to blur. I awoke in a daze, the dentist now talking to a colleague. The once menacing tools were now just ordinary dental instruments, and the eyes that had seemed so evil were now simply professional and focused. I thanked the dentist and stepped outside.
  • The fresh air kissed my face, and the warm sunshine embraced me. The wind gently caressed my cheeks, and the once grey skies were now beautiful shades of blue.
    What was I afraid of?
