    C)
    D)
    E)
  • The cell structures in a plant cell are the nucleus, cytoplasm, chloroplast, cell membrane, vacuole, mitochondria, cell wall and ribosome
    A)
    B)
    C)
    D)
    E)
    F)
    G)
    H)
  • The Nucleus contains the genetic material that controls the activities of the cell and the instructions to make new cells and proteins
  • The cytoplasm is a liquid gel/ "jelly-like" substance where most chemical reactions happen
  • The cell membrane is a partially permeable barrier that surrounds the cell content, and controls what enters and leaves the cell
  • The mitochondria is where aerobic respiration takes place, the reaction that transfers energy for cells to use
  • The ribosome is where protein synthesis (using genetic code from DNA) takes place, making all the proteins needed in the cell
  • The chloroplast is filled with a green substance chlorophyll, which absorbs light needed for photosynthesis
  • The vacuole (permanent) contains a water liquid with sugar and salts called cell sap, which supports the cell from the inside and keeps it rigid
  • The cell wall strengthens the cell and provides support for the cell. It is made of cellulose.
  • A cell is the very smallest unit of living matter
  • The small structures inside the cell are called organelles
  • The difference between animal and plant cells is that plants cells have chloroplasts, vacuoles and cell walls whilst animal cells do not
