Continuously adjustable digital or rotary pipettes that can be set to transfer any volume within its own volume range using specially designed tips
Centrifugation
Consists of 2 components- an electric motor to spin samples and a rotor to hold them down. An apparatus that rotates at selective speed by centrifugal force that separates substances of different densities.
Centrifugation
Low-speed (4-5k rpm, no temp control, fixed angle and swinging bucket rotors) used for routine sedimentation of heavy particles
High-speed (10-13k rpm, with temp control, fixed angle, vertical and swinging bucket rotors) used for routine sedimentation of heavy particles
Ultra-speed (40-200k rpm, with temp control, fixed angle, vertical and swinging bucket rotors) used in both preparative and analytical work
Gel electrophoresis
A method to separate DNA/RNA molecules by size, achieved by moving negatively charged nucleic acid molecules through an agarose matrix with an electric field/force. Shorter molecules move faster and migrate longer.
