  • Classes of Fire Extinguisher
    Class A - contains water for use against fire involving the combustible material like paper and wood
    Class B - use dry chemicals to put out fire caused by gasoline, oil and solvents
    Class C - contain carbon dioxide for use agains electrical fires
    Class D - spray dry powder on combustible metals like magnesium and lithesium
    Class K - use a wet, potassium acetate-based, low pH agent to put out cooking fires
