    Cards (27)

    • Statistical mini-research
      An output of gathered data through questionnaire, interview, observation, experimentation from an identified set of sample
    • Parts of Statistical Mini-Research
      • Title
      • Introduction
      • Methodology
      • Data Gathering
      • Statistical Treatment
      • Presentation and Interpretation
      • Conclusion/Generalization

      • References
    • Title of the Study
      Needs to be simple, direct, accurate, appropriate, specific, functional, interesting, attractive/appealing, concise/brief, precise/focused, unambiguous, memorable, captivating, informative, unique, catchy, and not misleading
    • The title should have "just enough details" to arouse the interest and curiosity of the reader so that the reader then goes ahead with studying the abstract and then (if still interested) the full paper
    • Background of the Study
      Provides context to the information discussed throughout the research paper, including important and relevant studies
    • Statement of the Problem
      The main problem that the research is trying to solve, specifically pointing out the important questions that the study needs to answer
    • Methodology
      A discussion of the underlying reasoning why particular methods were used, describing the procedure that can be applied in conducting the study
    • Data Gathering
      The procedure of collecting, measuring and analyzing accurate insights for research using standard validated techniques, such as survey, question and answer or interview
    • Statistical Treatment
      The application of statistical methods to the data gathered, such as the use of measures of position like quartile, decile and percentile
    • LB
      Lower boundary of the Qk class
    • N
      Total frequency
    • cf₁
      Cumulative frequency of the class before the Qk class
    • fQk
      Frequency of the Qk class
    • i
      Size of class interval
    • k
      nth quartile, where n = 1, 2 or 3
    • Decile for Grouped Data
      Dk = LB + (kN - cfb) / fDk * i
    • LB
      Lower boundary of the Dk class
    • cf₁
      Cumulative frequency of the class before the Dk class
    • fDk
      Frequency of the Dk class
    • k
      nth decile, where n = 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 or 9

      Pk = LB + (kN - cfb) / fPk * i
    • LB
      Lower boundary of the Pk class
    • cf₁
      Cumulative frequency of the class before the Pk class
    • fPk
      Frequency of the Pk class
    • k
      nth percentile, where n = 1, 2, 3, ..., 99
    • 7th Decile for Grouped Data
      Dk = LB + (kN - cfb) / fDk * i
    • 40th Percentile for Grouped Data

      Pk = LB + (kN - cfb) / fPk * i
