• Domain: represent all real numbers and is associated with the x axis,viewing from left to right
• Range:in basic parent function,it is associated with the y values or axis,that shall be viewed from bottom to top
• Horizontal shift:the graph will move to the left or right by some number of units without changing its shape.
• Vertical Shift:The graph moves up or down by some number of units without changing its shape.
• Stretch/compression:the graph will stretch vertically if k >1 or compress vertically if k <1
• Linear function:y=x
• Quadratic function:y=x^2
• Cubic function:y=x^3
• Logarithmic function:y=log(x)
• Amplitude: the length of a certain wave,measured from the peak to the trough (from y to y axis)
• Horizontal asymptote: a line symmetry that divides graphs in two parts
• Vertical asymptote: a vertical line where the graph is undefined
• Range: all possible y values
• Domain: all possible x values
• Intercept: point at which the curve crosses the coordinate axes
• Slope: rate of change or steepness of a line
• Quadratic function: polynomial with degree 2
• Even function: when f(-x) = f(x)
