Edward fell ill late January 1553; privy council warned it was serious. Late May suffered relapse and on 6th July died.

Mary proclaimed herself queen and sent letters to the privy council and towns informing them.
Mary asked Charles v for help, Northumberland has to leave London and the privy council had a chance to change their views.
When Mary arrived in London she was met with cheers and support
Mary killed Northumberland, LJG and Dudley while releasing Gardiner and Norfolk from jail
Edward was able to get 102 councillors to sign the devise saying LDJ should be queen however a lot of them avoided the session in hopes of getting out of it
