  • Later informed force didn't match rebels - panic
  • Appealed to Cov + other towns for support - sent unpopular Woodvilles away
• • 9 July 1469 - sent letters to DOC + EOW request support
  • 6 July - EOW had travelled in secret to Calais with EOOx - celebrate DOC + IN marriage
  • 16 July 1469 - EOW + DOC met supporters + marched to London - let in by anxious Gov
• • E4 turned south to meet armies led by WH (EoP) BUT armies stopped by Resesdale
  • 24 July 1469 - Battle of Edgecote
  • 3 days later E4 captured - left after news of defeat at Edgecote
  • E4 sent to Warwick castle + Middleham castle
  • EOW issued gov docs in king name - summoned parl
• • Nobility suspicious - thought EOW acting out of selfishness
  • A Lanc. uprising began in North + EOW couldn't suppress without King - released + back in control by mid-Sept - went with EOW to suppress uprising
• • E4 no longer trust EOW - encouraged DOC treason
  • Oct 1469 - agreement between the 3 after admittance of failure
  • Nov 1469 - Feb 1470 - E4 worked to gain support = isolate EOW + DOC
  • Richard DOG - responsible for Welsh interests
  • Restored Henry percy as EON
  • Rebellion in Lincolnshire quickly suppressed
• • E4 summoned EOW + DOC - ignored
  • Fled to lancashire - declared as traitors
  • Not offered refuge by Calais
  • Turned to louis XI of France for refuge - landed in Honfleur (1 May) - isolated with no supporters - confiscated land + property by E4
