  • Limitations of The Burgess model:
    • Outdated
    • No specific values
    • No scale can't measure
    • Unlikely rings would be the same width
    • Key relates to class system - outdated
    • Suggest abrupt change between places
    • Does not take into account physical landscape
    • Urban regeneration and gentrification has changed inner city housing status
    • Decentralisation of shops and industry does not fit in the model
