  • Reaction time method
    1. Write a hypostheis predicting how the amount of practise will affect the reaction time
    2. Use your non dominant hand
    3. Sit on a stool and place hand out in front of you. Partner will stand and hold a ruler vertically with bottom end between your thumb and first finger
    4. Partner drop ruler without telling you
    5. Catch ruler as auickly as you can
    6. Record number level
    7. Repeat with 10 results and then ocmparemto data
    8. Can do gaian with caffine intake
  • Plant Responses method
    1. Set up three Petri dishes containing damp cotton wool soaked in equal amounts of water
    2. Put each mustard seed in each
    3. Put dishes in warm place. Do not move them
    4. Allow mustard seed to germinate and water daily with equal amounts of
    5. Each dish must have same number of seedlings
    6. Measure height of seedlings after certain amount of days
    7. Move Petri dishes into position one in full sunlight, one in partial light, one in darkness
  • Field investigation method
    1. On a section of field look for a common species
    2. Randomly place your quadrat by placing two measure tapes alongside the x and y axis
    3. Place quadrat in each section and record number of plants and calculate mean
  • Investigating an abiotic factor on plant distribution method
    1. Look for two areas where species is growing
    2. Put down transect line from shady to sunny area
    3. Decide on intervals and at least 10 samples should be taken
    4. Record light intensity where quadrat is placed
    5. Count number of plants
    6. Repeat along line
  • Decay method
    1. Add 20cmcubed of milk to beaker
    2. Add 5cmcubed of bile salts using measuring cylinder
    3. Clean cylinder
    4. Add 10cmcubed of sodium carbonate
    5. Add 10 drops of phenolphthalein to beaker, it should be pink
    6. Put in water bath and stir, leave for 5 mins
    7. Add 5cmcubed of lipase solution and start stopwatch
    8. Stir contents until loses pink colour. Stop stopwatch
    9. Record how long it took. Repeat x2
    10. Repeat at different temperatures
